COLLABORATIVE SHORT (BUT EXITING) BRIEF FOR SNASK.

(Need to do boards)

I really enjoyed working with Suzanne, we came up with this crazy idea and it was just like telling a sentence where we would finish each others ideas that went crazier and crazier, more changing and we had no idea how to make them real but we WENT for it!

CONCEPT.

So after doing a brief investigation into the topic we met up to see what could we make of it. This is the first time we actually tested out how do we work as group and as I said before that I had some concerns - all of them are gone. Me and Thomas were just bouncing ideas of each other. Untill the point till we came up with a concept and it was group work at BEST! I can't even say who came up with what it was just like a hudge mind-mapping. Thomas came up with the name for the whole collection and it being a contradiction. 'Le'art de contradiction' so we decideed to make the contradiction be part of everything - the packaging, the names of seperate bottles and the bottle itself. Thomas sugested to separate the scents in to two for female and male.
Scent a: Passion and desire. Sex and
lust. Raw and physical. - male
• Scent b: Perfect, sublime love. An
interior emotion.-female
• Scent c: Excitement and fear.
Adrenaline, exhilaration and thrill.- male
• Scent d: Elegant and dignified. Stormy
yet still.-female

It made most scent we sat down and started thinking of names and I suggested to theme i as a 'beutiful disaster' and asociated with nature because that's what usually tends to happen with perfume. so we split it inti 4 subjects: Sky, Earth, Watter and Fire from there we started thinking of beutiful disasters such as volcano irruption, tornado, storm and earthquake. and than we catagorised all the scents and looked for synonyms and anthonims of the words. ended up with:

serene flux, gentle storm, dark flame and silent shock

D&AD

With all this Kennedys thing going on it's hard to concentrate to D&AD which is equily important. Thomas is always encouraging me and I feel taht he deserves my best effort! So we need to work. I will go into wod work to find out what kind of wood is used in the examples taht we have and will we be able to use it for the bottle lids! We are creating half on half glass/wood bottles for it to be a contradiction and the package is going to be white from the outside - patters form the inside (which I need to draw out) and than it will be perferated so you need to tear it out and create your own ART it brings it originality, personal touch and interaction to the product. We really focused on creating an experiance trough the packaging.

We have already discussed the time of the photoshoot and I need to go and book a studio for that, arrage all the equipment and we'll be ahead if we take pictures next week or even this.

THE KENNEDYS. STEP 2

One day of planning can save up many days of panicking. I have arranged all the actors needed for all the shots. I have talked with Matt about all the equipment I might need (had a small induction itno the SLR Canon 1100D camera, nice), talked with the mack suite guys about the sound-booth and how can I use it to make the background music, also arranged the bar in which I'm planning to film one of the scenes about LOVE, it's in call lane not as busy at the opening, talked with Suzannes boyfriend about filming someone in skatepark for the shot passion - he agreed, many thanks, Suzanne and Lizzi agreed to film in part 'friendship', and Suzanne also agreed so I would film in her flat which is amazing (more thank you's are needed)

THE KENNEDYS

I hearded about The Kennedys project in Amsterdam from David and than I was considering to apply but it wasn't anaounced open till very late and then one day Thomas just posted it on my facebook wall saying that it's open for entries. i went online to check out the requiriments and suddenly realised that I want to try and apply. The requiriments seemed simple enough Create a PDF that would have answers to set statements and questions, your creative CV (we've been having sessions with John about it) and samples of work (that I was a bit worried). The first one was to create a video about something important and so it was taht i never worked with film and wasn't planing to but than today IT STRUK! AN IDEA! I was walking to work and thinkin 'important things' and how you could create an inspirational message showing cool pictures of people dancing, and loughfing and having fun, and being with their family and having outdoor activities and all these flashing images and than I realised that it's a bit BORING....Been there done that....After I came back from work still thinking of that video (just couldn't let it go) I remebered my hometown and one of the exhibitions I've been in and remebered this poster about toilet paper and it JUST KLICKED!!!!!!!!! Images of REALY important things and than SMALL things are important as well...situation in a toilet where a person doesn't check for the toilet paper and it grows into a big ridiculous drama!!!! YES! The idea is here! Will sit down write a script and do a storyboard NOW! So exited! have two weeks to do this!

OUGD503. LITHUANIAN SIDE BRIEF

While I was in Lithuania I met one girl from the so called 'Oranges'. They organize (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) Olympics for 9-12 classes around Lithuania. And started the talk about their designs and tho I did tell myself that I would not do anything for a Lithuanian audience, I decided to break my rule and actually take this in as a life brief for the responsive. It is a really BIG re-branding project. The only thing I am really happy about that the girl that is in contact with me is really well organized, open for ideas but know what she wants and the best thing communication skills. Žana is very quick at writing back. I think i m going to be enjoying this. They actually have a problem after the Olympics is done I will try to get them more sponsors by improving the look of the organization.

We are using drop box as our file sharing system, we also are using e-mails, which makes things clearer because there is quite a lot of designing involved and a lot of information.

The first deadline for the logo's is next week. 21st-22nd of February. I really fast deadline for a very important thing. I will try and keep them consistent because earlier they had different people doing the logos and they all are not as bad but really different to each other.

I will need to do a brand guidelines. Simon and Lorraine were talking about them yesterday in the session which i found helpful. Now I even understand why is it needed. Because tho all the files are really organized in Drop Box it is still really hard to make sense of it.

Audiance:

9-12 class children (very smart children/nerds), age 15-18.

Deliverables:

4 logos
Named programs
Periodic Table
Presentation slides
Stickers
Booklet ribbon bookmarks

I will be designing in Lithuanian language but I will keep an English description for this. So it would still be possible to mark. I will need to write the brief myself for this and than this brief will have two parts, olimpics is one of them than improving the organization as a brand the second task.

OUGD503. RESPONSIVE. CREATIVE PARNERSHIP. ASWERS

BRIEF TITLE:

L'Artisan Parfumeur jkr Brief

Why have you chosen to work with your creative partner? What are your aims?

I chose Thomas because he tells me off and he’s really good at time management and keeping me on schedule. I learned that whiles we were doing the PPP group presentations. He tells me when to stop being crazy and start the work but he still encourages me to keep on thinking all the crazy ideas. So I think our partnership can bend the boundaries of design and it will be a challenge for two absolutely different people working together.

My aims for this brief are to produce an amazing piece of design that would astonish other people and would be a good piece to put into our portfolios. As well as winning – no one enters a competition without the aim of wining, I would not like that to be the main aim, but it can be one of them. I think this partnership is one of the strongest aims. Making it work and learning from each other.

What are your specific areas of creative interest in this brief?

I think I could contribute to the concept and the presentations (distribution) of the final piece

What specific design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them?

I have my ideas to offer. I think Tom is better in using the creative software so probably I will learn quite a bit from him. On the other hand I have a bit of after effect skills to offer, as well as Audition (if we need any) and I am a fast learner and not afraid of contacting and asking stuff. So if we go into the shop I will need to be the one ‘Go ask her for some samples’ person.

What specific non-design skills do you have to offer in relation to your chosen brief? How do you intend to use them?

My personality and let’s make everything we do interesting. As well as motivating the other member of our partnership and being always amused about strange stuff that people usually don’t find amusing.

What will your specific roles be in the collaboration in relation to your brief?

I do the ideas, Thomas does the work. Simple as. Obviously I will want to help him and everything.
But that was our agreement.

What will your individual responsibilities be in relation to your brief?

We will both analyse the brief and come up with ideas, both contribute to the research and development and both make design and idea decisions. I think it’s going to be a 50/50 collaboration. Obviously tom is going to time manage the whole thing and create deadlines and I am going to be the crazy one with changing our idea every day and driving Thom crazy with my more and more brilliant ideas. So to sum it up: Tom will be the organized side of creativity and I will be the slightly needed chaos for the collaboration to work and succeed. I will probably work on organising photography studios and making stuff happen and doing whatever needed to make the ideas work. While Tom do the design part of the brief because he is way better at the creative software 9(I might learn a thing or two)

What will your joint responsibilities be?

We will both analyse the brief and come up with ideas, both contribute to the research and development and both make design and idea decisions. I think it’s going to be a 50/50 collaboration.
