DESIGN PRACTICE.COMMUNICATION IS A VIRUS (How does it spread?). RESEARCH

I just re-read the brief and found out that all the research has to go to Design Practice blog which I was not doing. I put a lot of my research on Design Context. So Yesterday we came up with the weeks plan that involved thinking of a font foundry name and designing a logo which I did yesterday.

I think the Type Team and Generation of type works really well, though I do like Tough Type logos. We'll going to discuss all the work after everyone had their indesign workshops.

I took out some books yesterday from the library. I think The 'Tips on Type' by Bill Gray is really good for education. It's quit a useful book about type rules it points out some mistakes that people keep on doing. 

It's not the best book on type. I think it would be if the author wouldn't be using hand lettered calligraphy and it was up to date. 

I really enjoyed the 'New Typography Design' by Roger Fawcett-Tang. 

I found the Saturday Design Studio in this book, that I did enjoy the work tough they are more into fashion and identity.

Than Helmut Schmid has wicked type use. It's really innovative and playful, though at the same time it stays really serious, like the poster he did on chernobyl.

Struktur Design are amazing as well in the way they use type in posters.
